Horseback riding at Echo Valley Ranch & Spa is a memorable equestrian experience. Our horses are part of the ranch family and are always treated with respect and kindness. The connection to the horse lies at the heart of the Horse Harmony program and as such, to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all, all guests must adhere to the following guidelines.
Rider Weight Limit: For the well-being of our horses, we can accommodate riders up to 200 pounds (90 kg). To determine the best horse match, we respectfully request that all guests verify their weight privately with a staff member upon check-in. Unfortunately, any guests over the limit will not be able to participate in our Horse Harmony program but are welcome to visit the horses on their pasture.
Rider Health: To ensure safety for all riders and horses, we reserve the right to decline rides for health reasons. We respectfully request that guests inform us about any health concerns that could affect their ability to ride, such as issues with balance. While we will make every effort to offer a riding experience to all guests who want to participate, we are committed to putting the health and safety of all first.
Age Requirements: A minimum age of 10 years is required for horseback riding, the final decision lies with our head wrangler. Riders under 19 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian adult.
Safety First: To maintain a safe and enjoyable riding experience, please follow these rules:
- Helmet Use: Helmets are mandatory for all riders under the age of 19 and recommended for all riders. We provide riding helmets for your safety.
- Respect for Wranglers: Kindly follow all instructions and directions given by our experienced wranglers.
- Footwear: Closed-toe, heeled boots are required.
- Gentle Pace: Trotting, cantering, or galloping is not allowed.
- No Alcohol: Alcohol consumption is prohibited before and during riding.
- No Smoking: Smoking is not permitted on the trails.
